Technology – Food

This year  students will experience  flavors of different  culture, learn to follow a recipe and variation to it. The aim of Food Technology is to introduce the students with the skills and knowledge that will  be needed when working in the food tech room. The students learn how to read a recipe, how to measure ingredients, use the different equipment/ovens safely and  about  personal/kitchen hygiene.

Food Processing/Preservation – offered as an ACE program on Friday. Students choose a product from the market, do a research on it and get the basic recipe. Through continuous reflection and evaluation on their product students  do two more trials on the basic  recipe making variation to the recipe.

Hospitality classes is offered as an extension classes on Thursday morning. This will provide the students with opportunity to work independently   and   build on the skills and knowledge learnt in the Food technology class. Students will learn financial literacy, hospitality etiquette, special event production, food production & service, menu planning & design and catering.
